    Someone somewhere has pointed out that Disney was only following in the tradition of European folk and fairy tales, in which the evil or dead mother was a consistent archetype.

    yes, but, it’s still creepy. ooo. that could be another list – european folk tales with evil women archetypes. go to it, mark!

    also, i don’t think lilo and stitch is a traditional European folk tale.
